Byesville Gears Up for Jonathan Bye Days

BYESVILLE, OH – A Byesville tradition is back and bringing four fun days with it. Jonathan Bye Days returns August 20th through the 23rd, celebrating the man who helped put Byesville on the map.

The annual festival honors Jonathan Bye, the founder of Byesville. Thursday, August 20th, gives visitors a sneak peek with Ride Preview Night beginning at 5 p.m. But the festivities kick into full swing on Friday with First Responder Night, featuring free rides, a Touch-a-Truck event with emergency vehicles, live music, and a talent show.

“Friday night is First Responder Night. You can bring the kids out to see all the first responders. There’s also a motorcycle and ATV show that night and then on the main stage there will be a band called Non-Friction which is a great 80’s cover band.” Brennan Dudley, the Byesville Village Administrator said.

The celebration continues Saturday with Veterans Day, featuring the Byesville Patriot Bed Race, a parade, live entertainment, and fireworks at 10. Then Sunday wraps up the weekend with America 250 Patriot Day.

“I’m excited for all of the events actually. I’m really looking forward to the Bed Race. We’ve taken some old school events and added some new school events and I tell you, there’s going to be some top-notch entertainment.” Byesville Mayor Jay Jackson said.
