California Drug Dealer Sentenced

The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says a Hollywood, California man is going to prison on drug charges. Assistant Prosecutor John Litle says 49-year-old Elgin Haynie was sentenced to 16 years in prison for drug trafficking, money laundering and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity. Litle says for over 10 years Haynie shipped large quantities of cocaine and meth to Muskingum County from his home in Hollywood. Litle says Haynie’s arrest comes after a lengthy investigation spearheaded by the Zanesville/Muskingum County Drug Unit along with the United States Postal Inspectors, the Central Ohio Drug Enforcement Task Force, the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area task force and the Zanesville Police Department Special Response Team. Litle says local officers continue to regularly nab local drug distributors and this case stands out because great detective work got us all the way to the man in California shipping drugs to our community.
