Cambridge day care operator arrested for drug trafficking

CAMBRIDGE, Ohio- A Guernsey County day care operator has been arrested on drug trafficking charges.

The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office said they arrested 54-year-old Rose Wright Friday afternoon. According to the release, Wright was participating in illegal narcotics trafficking during regular business hours, while she was administering child care. Authorities said the licensed residential day care is located on Woodlawn Avenue in the City of Cambridge.

The search and arrest warrants executed were issued based on multiple purchases of controlled substances.

Wright is incarcerated in the Guernsey County Jail on two counts of aggravated drug trafficking, both felonies of the third degree. She is expected to be arraigned in the Cambridge Municipal Court, at 1:00 p.m. on Monday October 23rd.

No children were present at the time of the arrest.

The warrants were executed by narcotics investigators from The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office, Byesville Police Department, Cambridge Police Department, and Ohio State Highway Patrol.
