ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Say hello to Cane, this week’s Adoption Society Shelter, ‘Pet of the Week!’

He is a Jack Russell terrier and is around 1 years old. He wandered in as a stray and is a very calm dog.

Cane is up to date on all his shots and vaccines, and has been neutered.

Rebecca Hunt, the shelter’s Animal Care Manager let us know the ideal home for him is one with children older than six due to his shyness at first.

“You know, I think kids would be fine for him, I think he would love that. I think a household that is active, with Jack Russell Terriers are very active dogs,” Hunt told us.

Cane would pair nicely with a family that has a backyard so he can run around and play.

He is one of the many great dogs the Animal Shelter has available.

“We do have some other small dogs here as well that are on that site that would definitely love to have a forever home,” says Hunt.

He has been at the shelter for 3 weeks, and gets along just fine with other pets and animals.

If you would like to adopt Cane or any other animal that the shelter has, you can visit their website at www.animalsheltersociety.org or give the shelter a call.
