Captain Bailey Ships Out

A local Army National Guard Captain and her troops have deployed.

Captain Angela Bailey of Zanesville and the 1484th Transportation Company gathered Saturday for a send off ceremony at the University of Akron.

The National Guard soldiers will train in Texas before heading to Afghanistan.

The relatives and friends that gathered waved flags and cheered for their loved ones. The transportation company will be stationed in Kandahar and will be overseas for a year. This is Captain Bailey’s first overseas deployment.
