Carol Metheney

Carol W. (Triplett) Metheney, 92, of Byesville, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. She was born on December 23, 1933, in Senecaville, the daughter of the late Earl Triplett and Iona (Finley) Triplett.

Carol worked for RCA and later for NCR in Cambridge, retiring in 1992. After retirement, she found great joy in caring for her grandchildren, a role she cherished deeply. She loved spending time with her family and took special pride in hosting holiday gatherings, creating warm memories that will be treasured for years to come.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James M. Hayes; her second husband, John Metheney; four sisters: Alberta, Ruth, Mary, and Geneva; and five brothers: Harold, Ray, Donald, Charles, and Gilbert.

Carol leaves behind two daughters: Trina (Bruce) King of New Concord and Twila (Randy) Wright of Byesville; five grandchildren: Amanda (Luke) Buday of Monticello, KY, Aaron (Nichole) King of Cambridge, Cody (Emily) Wright of Newark, Kyle Wright of Byesville, and Kayla Wright of Byesville; five great grandchildren: Alissa Buday, Addyson Buday, Alivia Buday, Blake King, and Hayden King; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held for the family with Evan. Mark Beros officiating. Burial will follow at Guernsey County Memory Gardens in Cambridge. Black-Epperson Funeral Home, Byesville, is handling arrangements.
