Carolyn Rinehart

Carolyn J. Rinehart, 71 of Zanesville, died 4:20 AM, Friday, May 17, 2024, at Cedar Hill Care Center following a lengthy illness. She was born Friday, January 16, 1953, in Lancaster, the daughter of Donald T. Smith, Sr. and Mabel G. (Reed) Smith. She married Stephen M. Rinehart on Monday, July 12, 1971, who preceded her in death on Wednesday, April 1, 2009, and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Carolyn faced all the challenges of life with determination and courage; never losing her positive cheerful outlook, despite her numerous trials and many health issues for years.

She will be deeply missed by her family, a multitude of friends, and all who knew her.

Carolyn is survived by two sons, Scott and Eric Rinehart both of Zanesville; one step-daughter: Jennifer Confalone of Albany, NY;
numerous grandchildren; two brothers, Donald “Tom” (Helen) Smith, Jr. and Robert W. Smith both of Zanesville and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Rinehart, and one son, David B. Rinehart.
