Cars On Display To Stir Interest In Parade

A local man is revving up for the 2nd annual Y-City Rendezvous and Rumble.

Jim Black and fellow car enthusiasts showed off their restored or custom made rides in the Central Trinity Church parking lot today. They are hoping to stir interest in the Y-City Rendezvous and Rumble which includes a car show and parade next Saturday down Main Street. All proceeds go to the Red Cross.

"They help fire victims out with you know with clothing food shelter and they need a lot of funding for that and this is one way we can help them," says Jim Black organizer of the Y-City Rendezvous and Rumble.

Last year Black says they raised $2,700 dollars. They hope to double that this year. Registration to be in the parade begins at noon next Saturday in the Central Trinity Church parking lot. There is a fee of 18 dollars. Participants say it is a great way to show their cars and help a good cause.

"You know they see us running around town once and a while and hopefully they will get ot come out and enjoy the day maybe help the Red Cross," says Paul Herron who is showing a car in the parade.

There will be a blood drive in conjuntion with parade. Food and drinks will be available to anyone who comes out to watch. The parade begins at 4:00 pm. Mayor Zwelling is the official announcer for the parade.
