Cary Pickenpaugh

It is with undying love and hopeful faith that we announce the passing of Cary A. Pickenpaugh on July 8, 2025, at the age of 66 years.
Cary was born to Charles R. and Beryl J. (Reed) Pickenpaugh in McKees Rock, PA. on November 30, 1958 and was raised an “Army Brat” in El Paso, TX near the Fort Bliss Army Base. He was preceded in death by both his parents, his sister, Sandra K. (Rick) Macias and his son, Robert (Tiffany) Pickenpaugh. His niece Lisa (Tyler) Kraften still resides in El Paso, TX.
Cary moved to Ohio around 1981 and met his wife, Beverly [Kathy) Maynard in 1982. They were married on May 19, 1984 and were blessed to be together for 41 years. Other than Robert (Tiffany) Pickenpaugh, they had two children, Angela (John) Reed, James (Ashley) Pickenpaugh.
Although Cary was usually a man of few words, he always enjoyed having his family around, especially his grandkids. Granddaughters youngest to oldest: Mya, Amelia, Erin, Kaci, Kaydence, Emily, Jaylynn; grandsons youngest to oldest: Jase, AJ, Brayden, Matthew. Plus a few stragglers here and there like Chyanne and Ayanna.
Other than just being around his family, over the years Cary enjoyed NASCAR Racing, tinkering in the garage, his (Ford) trucks, tending to his yard and property, feeding/watching the birds, and taking his dog, Jazz, for rides in the Ford.
Cary was employed for several years by Bob’s Appliances, Huffman Bowers Oil, and then Newlon Tire, all in New Lexington. However, the bulk of his employment life he accomplished his number one goal of taking care of and providing for his family working for New River Electric for 20+ years. He was also a loyal member of IBEW 71 during that time and until he passed.
Funeral services for Cary will take place at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home in New Lexington, Ohio on Saturday, July 12th. Viewing will begin at 11:00 and the funeral service, officiated by Pastor Kenny Brown, will start at 1:00 PM. Afterward, there will be a short interment service at the Zion Cemetery in Portersville, Ohio.
Those desiring to do so may join the family after the interment service for a dinner which Dan’s friends, Jesse Curran and Mikey Wion plan to have catered to Church Along The Way, 10095 St. Rt. 37, New Lexington, Ohio. Anyone wishing to bring a side dish or dessert will also be welcome to do so. Church doors will be open at 10:00AM. Food items may be left on any of the tables inside the church
