Catapalooza Treats Dozens of Cats as Shelter Plans Full Slate of Events

Feral Feline Events

ZANESVILLE, OH – It’s been a busy time for the Staff at the Animal Shelter Society.

On Wednesday they hosted their first Catapalooza spay and neuter event of the year where they saw a total of 62 cats.

April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Shelter, says they were able to assist veterans and other community members who needed to have their animal treated.

“Some of the veterans, some seniors keep these animals in their homes, because now they’ve been altered and they’re healthy.” Gibson said. “We were able to sell extra flea, tick, ear mite treatment to these cats, I mean, it’s very very important, it’s not just about the alterations, it’s about the care. We are thankful people trust us to do that, low cost, it is very low cost for folks and we had a couple of donations.”

With the great success of the first ever Feral Felines Sing a Long Brunch in February, Gibson says they’ve planned out brunches for the remainder of the year.

The next Feral Felines will be on April 18th but spots are limited; after that will be “For the Queens” or mothers in your life on May 9th, June 27th will take you back to the 80’s, and don’t put away the sparklers yet because there will be another Feral Felines Brunch on July 25th.

The Shelter is also gearing up for the 3rd Annual Pickleball 4 Paws Tournament on May 2nd.

“Adam Agin joined the Board and when he came on board, he brought Pickle Ball.” Gibson said. “Never heard of it before, had no idea, it doesn’t matter that I didn’t know anything about it because Adam does. So that’s coming up on May 2nd there at Riverside Park, we’re thankful for the City of Zanesville and those courts down there. If you want a team or have any questions, please contact Adam, if you want to do a sponsorship contact me.”
