ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Caleb Cares 4 Kids hosted their 4th Annual Spaghetti Dinner this weekend.

When Caleb Silvia was 2-years-old he was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease, which is a rare autoimmune disorder. He spent that time in the Nationwide Children’s Hospital and one of the few things he remembers is the toy carts. This led to Caleb Cares 4 Kids and events such as the toy drive and the spaghetti dinner.

“It’s to benefit Caleb Cares 4 Kids which is an organization I started that takes gifts to nationwide children’s hospital and supports the children’s miracle network,” Silvia said.

They expected about 200 people to attend the spaghetti dinner this year. There was a Chinese auction, silent auction and a live auction that went on throughout the event. Caleb said they did receive a $500 donation from Red Rose Tattoo. Any money raised is going towards Nationwide Children’s Hospital and the Children’s Miracle Network.

“So it’s really crazy, the first couple of years we went door to door throughout the neighborhood and we’ve been going for years now and they’re always like, “Oh hey I remember you. So what can I do for you this year?” and we also for the dinner we collect donations from businesses all around the county and this year we went into a few places and they were like “Oh we already got you something.” It’s just crazy to see how these people have really gotten behind the idea,” Silvia said.

They do collect donations all throughout the year. For more information you can head to their website or Facebook. By the way, Caleb is now a Freshman in High School.
