Celebrate National Tourism Week May 6th-12th

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Travel and tourism are some of the largest supporters of Muskingum County’s economy.
The Zanesville-Muskingum County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau is celebrating National Tourism week as a way to recognize the importance of tourism. Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, Kelly Ashby, said tourism brings in over $200 million to Muskingum County each year.
“Perfect time for national tourism week to celebrate all of the wonderful attraction and the wonderful guests that come into the area and our hospitality industry who are just phenomenal,” said Ashby.
National Tourism Week starts May 6th and finishes on Saturday, May 12th with several free informational and historical tours. This includes free admission to Stone Academy, the Zanesville Museum of Art and buy one get one free Open Air safari tours at the Wilds.
“We just have so many great things to see and do in Muskingum county and we always are encouraging our local community to get out and explore,” said Ashby.
