Celebrating 30 years with Z.A.A.P.

ZANESVILLE, OH- The Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project is celebrating 30 years in downtown Zanesville.
To celebrate this month, they will be holding their annual Foot by Foot Silent Auction. The auction will feature the works of all local artists on a 12-inch square canvas to help raise money.
“We are celebrating 30 years of Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project in Zanesville, Ohio, it was started by four artists and the mayor at the time, Marilyn Swope, and it has blossomed into an active, vital art community still 30 years later,” said Z.A.A.P. Treasurer Rosemary Ludt.
When you purchase one of the paintings in the auction 50 percent of the proceeds will go to the artist, and the other 50 percent will help keep the gallery open. You also can vote for your favorite artworks and help the some of the artists win prizes.
“It will be fun, and everyone has room for a 12-inch by 12-inch piece of original local art in their homes,” said Ludt.
The auction will begin on Friday, June 7 at 5 p.m. and end on Saturday, June 22 with a party at the Z.A.A.P. Gallery. You will be able to place any final bids, win door prizes, be part of a 50/50 drawing. Food and drink will be provided.
