Cell Phones For Soldiers
One Zanesville business is helping those fighting overseas by giving the gift of communication.
The Snouffer Funeral Home kicked off its ‘Cell Phone for Soldiers’ program nearly a month ago. The program aims to provide soldiers fighting overseas with used cell phones. Each cell phone is sent to ReCellular which is a company that loads each phone with an hour of talk time.
"The soldiers that are getting these phones are very pleased that they have a way to connect with their families and loved ones back here in the United States, " says Funeral Home Director Josh Snouffer.
Snouffer Funeral Home hopes to receive 500 phones by the start of the new year.
"Through the holiday, with the next couple weeks, we’ve extended our normal business hours of operation to Saturdays as well so people can get in here on Saturdays as well to drop those off. "
If you would like to donate your old cell phone, you can do so at any of the Snouffer Funeral Homes or other drop off points. Just check out the cell phones for soldiers web site at www.cellphonesforsoldiers.com
