ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The Muskingum County Center for Seniors is highlighting their home-delivered meal program geared to seniors over 60 who are in need of the service.

The Center for Seniors in downtown Zanesville serves up to 600 home-delivered meals each day, Monday through Friday. They receive funding through the State of Ohio “Area Agency on Aging”.

“They provide a menu to us and that’s the menu we follow. It is very dietician-reviewed and assure that we have a nutritional-based program that we are giving to our seniors,” says Ann Combs, Exec. Dir. of the Muskingum Co. Center for Seniors.

The program began in 1962 and is serves individuals whose needs have been determined through a state application process.

“I would say most of the physicians in the Muskingum County area are aware of our program because we receive referrals from those physicians for individuals to receive those home-delivered meals,” Combs adds.

The Muskingum County Center for Seniors is located at the corner of Fourth and Shinnick Streets in downtown Zanesville.
