Century National Bank presents check to the United Way

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Century National Bank spread some love today presenting a large check to a local organization.
“We presented a check for the United Way from our employee fundraiser and contributions and our corporate. We’ve donated a check today of $77,500 of what we raised with everything,” said Desiree Milatovich.
The bank and its employees raised the money to donate to the United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties. Milatovich, a Freedom Years Assistant, said employees are able to make direct donations as well as participate in fundraisers.
“We have employees who donate for the year through their paycheck every paycheck. We also do fundraisers. We did a fundraiser. We did a jean did. We did football squares. We have bingo and they, you know, contribute money to that.”
The United Way said they are grateful for the donation and the money will go right back into the community supporting several different programs supporting income, education, and health. Meg Deedrick, Executive Director of the United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties, said their partnership with Century Bank is important to the community.
“Century is a great partner with us through campaign and has always been very financially generous both to us and to the community. But another way in which they’re generous is with their volunteers. And we have volunteers working in programs that we fund and also advancing United Way initiatives throughout the year.”
The United Ways said they plan to start putting the money to use in the coming weeks.
“We just had grants training this week and we will have teams of folks in the areas of income, education, and health meet soon once we’ve received our application so that we can start spending the money and putting that money back into the community to strengthen it as soon as possible.”
