Chamber of Commerce Hosts Annual Job Fair

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The Zanesville Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce hosted a Job Fair at The Welcome Center Tuesday afternoon.  It was sponsored by Ohio Jobs Muskingum County.

Over 30 different companies and organizations were in attendance as employers were on the hunt for a specific type of prospect to fill their various job openings.

“We are hiring for zip line tour guides. It’s an aerial adventure at The Wilds located in Cumberland, OH. We’re looking for people comfortable with heights, people person, public speaking — everything like that. It’s a seasonal position, we are looking for starting in April for weekends. And it goes until October 29th is the end of our season,” said The Wilds Course Manager Chase Jones.

Some employers were even conducting interviews on the spot today with the hopes of hiring potential candidates as early as next week.

“I am hiring for the call center out at North Point. We are looking for candidates with outstanding personalities that can come work second shifts, be able to grow with our company. We are doing on-the-spot interviews, and if you do an on-the-spot interview, you have the potential to know if you got the position by the end of the week,” explained Spectrum Recruiter LeeAnn Sayman.

The Job Fair was held between 2:00 and 5:00 pm Tuesday afternoon and over 500 community members were expected to attend.
