Chamber of Commerce Prepares for annual Spring Break event

Coming up in just over a month is the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce’s annual spring break event.

Chamber President, Tom Poorman, said the event is a way to recognize all of the area businesses. The March 27 meeting starts at 7 a.m. and will end around 9 a.m.

“It’s not an all day affair or anything like that, but it’s a lot of fun,” Poorman said. “It’s very interesting. People usually come away from there reinvigorated. They learn something, and they’ve had a good time.”

This year the chamber is bringing Jon Petz in as a guest speaker. Poorman said Petz mixes both humor and inspiration into his talks. The annual membership event seeks to energize and celebrate local businesses.

“This is where we celebrate our successes,” Poorman said. “We try to celebrate our successes as a business community, as an overall community, so we are trying to look at the bright spots in the area in specific to economic development.”

This year’s meeting will be held at the North Terrace Church of Christ. To register your business for the event you can contact the chamber of commerce online at zmchamber.com or by phone (740) 455-8282.
