Chamber of Commerce Spring Break Themed Annual Meeting

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce held its annual meeting Friday, but with a twist.

This is not your typical mundane meeting. It’s with a spring break theme. They asked participants to trade in their suits for shorts and sandals. The chamber celebrates community success and handed out ACES and Safety Council awards. It even featured comedian Scott Long.

“I will tell you, I’ve done comedy for 23 years and I have never done an event at 8:30 in the morning. So that was really unique. I could not believe when I walked in here and to see how many people were at this event. I felt like half the town of Zanesville was here,” said Comedian Scott Long.

Chamber President Tom Poorman describes this meeting as a success.

“We had a great turn out this morning. Scott long did a terrific job. George Hiotis did a terrific job. This a great way for the business community to recognize it’s own and celebrate the economic growth that’s occurring in our community,” said Poorman.

Poorman said his favorite part of the annual meeting is the awards ceremony because it’s a time to celebrate the community’s successes and say thank you to the businesses that have invested in our area
