Charges Filed in Genesis Assault

Charges have now been filed regarding the incident that took place in the parking lot at Genesis Bethesda Hospital Thursday afternoon.

According to Zanesville Police, 31-year-old John Ratchford of Avon Lake had stopped at the hospital to visit a patient when he was assaulted by 49-year-old Danny Devoll and 25-year-old Dannie Devoll, both of Zanesville.

When assaulted by the two Devolls, Ratchford pulled a gun . The gun was knocked away, and Ratchford then ran into the hospital to get away. He was hiding in the lobby when located by Genesis Police.

Both Devolls are charged with assault.  The younger Devoll is also charged with having a weapon under disability and tampering with evidence. Ratchford has been charged with having a weapon under disability and carrying a concealed weapon.
