Charles A. Franks (June 21, 1934 – December 2, 2015)

Charles A. Franks, 81, of Zanesville, died Wednesday, December 2, 2015, at his home. He was born June 21, 1934, in Monroe County, a son of the late George R. and Elma Hines Franks. He was a 1952 graduate of Lewisville High School, retired as a meat cutter from A&P and was a member of Market Street Baptist Church.

He is survived by his sister Janet Varner of Nashport; a brother Donald E. (Betty) Franks of Noblesville, IN; four nieces, Debbie (Mitch) Lewellen, Darla (Mike) Workman, Sharon Oxley and Tammy (Matt Schooley) Miller; three nephews, Mike Franks, Greg Franks and Gary Franks; and several great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Ellen K. Franks who died March 4, 2004; a brother Ralph Franks; two infant sisters; and a brother-in-law, Rolland Varner.

Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 6, 2015, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, and an hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 7, 2015, at the Market Street Baptist Church, 140 N 6th Street, Zanesville, with Pastor Howard Thompson and Evangelist Keith Kress officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Ellen at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville, with full military honors being presented by the United States Army in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post #1058 and American Legion Post #29.
