He was a devoted Ohio sports fan, cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Bengals, and Cincinnati Reds. Pick also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time outdoors. Some of his happiest moments were spent cruising on his Kubota, but above all, he treasured time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

On September 20, 2020, Pick was the grateful recipient of a heart transplant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Life Line of Ohio, whose remarkable work granted him five additional years to share with his beloved family.
