Charles R. Ford (January 22, 1916 – February 21, 2014)

Zanesville-
Charles R. Ford, 98 of Mt. Perry, passed away Friday, February 21, 2014 at The Oaks at Bethesda in Zanesville. Charles was born January 22, 1916 in Washington Court House to the late William Bucey and Essie Della Cartwright Ford. He retired in 1977 after 33 years as Maintenance Supervisor for Standard Oil Company of Ohio.
Charles was a member of First Church of the Nazerene. He served his country and protected our freedom by serving in the U.S. Army during WWII.
He is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Strawser) (King) Ford, son, Gary R. King of Marengo, Oh, daughters, Bonnie Corbin of Marengo, Oh., Verna Smith of Colorado and Rachel Ford of Colorado, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Elva M. Ford in 1975, son, John Fransico Ford, daughter, Sarah Ford, brothers, David L., J. Howard, Robert E., Maurice W. and Kenneth P. Ford.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Sunday, February 23 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY RD., ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Monday, Feb. 24 with Rev. Steven Dupler officiating and assisted by Pastor Mark Dupler.
Burial will follow at 2 P.M. at North Lawn Cemetery north of Westerville.
