Charles Ray Keylor (March 20, 1939 – April 4, 2012)

Charles Ray Keylor, 73 of New Lexington, OH passed away Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Genesis Morrison House after a brief illness. Charles was born March 20, 1939 in Calais, Ohio, (Monroe County) to the late Ray Clement Keylor and Nellie Blanch Hayes Keylor. He was a graduate of Summerfield High School class of 1957. He was retired from the Perry County Deputy Sheriff’s office where he was a Detective Sergeant with over 25 years of service. He started his law enforcement career with the Roseville Police Department serving as Chief. He served in the Ohio National Guard, was a former Volunteer Fire Fighter with the Roseville Volunteer Fire Department and served as camera operator for Philo football teams for several years. He enjoyed working outside mowing and driving tractors. He was a member of the Elk’s in New Lexington.
Charles is survived by one aunt, Edna Hayes Truax of Caldwell; one brother, Maniford (Kathy) Keylor of Woodsfield; three sons: Derrick Keylor (Dr. Ericka Ryan) of Roseville, Travis Keylor (Lori Ruff) of Crooksville and Quentin (Melissa) Keylor of Frazeysburg; five grandchildren: Nichole Keylor, Zach Keylor, Hannah Keylor, Kalais Keylor and Emily Keylor.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by two brothers: William Keylor and Joseph Keylor.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., Monday, April 9, 2012. Funeral Service will be held at 8 PM with Pastor Al Lease officiating at THE ROSEVILLE CHAPEL OF THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 33 N. MAIN ST., ROSEVILLE. Graveside Services will be 11 A.M., Tuesday, April 10 in the Calais Cemetery, Monroe Township near Caldwell, OH.
