Charlotte Sutphin
Charlotte A. (Harless) Sutphin age 90, of Caldwell, OH passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024 at Altercare Summit Acres Nursing & Rehab in Caldwell. She was born April 13, 1934 in Whitesville, WV a daughter of the late Charles K. and Mary Z. Pauley Harless.
She was retired from St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, WV following 40 plus years of service. Charlotte was a member of the Bible Center Church in Charleston and attended the Caldwell United Methodist Church. She was strong in her faith and always displayed a love for God. She enjoyed watching Hallmark movies. Charlotte will be remembered as a kind, loving, and patient mother. She was a beautiful singer. Charlotte was proud to be a breast cancer survivor and lead a long and happy life following her recovery.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Arlie E. Sutphin whom she married January 26, 1967 and who passed away October 2, 2012; brother Charles D. Harless and brother-in-law Arvid Estep.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Larry (June) Harless of Caldwell; 3 grandchildren Todd Hurst, Jamie Harless, and Larry Harless Jr.; 3 step-grandchildren Jill (Tony) Baker, Jennifer Lorenz, and Jonathan (Joni) Lorenz; several great-grandchildren; sister Patsy S. Estep; sisters-in-law Mary Jane Stephenson and Barbara Witwer; nephews Arvid Estep Jr. and Evan Estep. She is also survived by friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Chandler Funeral Home, 609 West Street, Caldwell, OH 43724, with a funeral service concluding visitation Tuesday at 6:00 PM in the Chandler Funeral Home Chapel, with Evangelist Harry Summers officiating. A graveside service will be observed Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 12:00 pm at the Marmet Cemetery in Marmet, WV where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Arlie.
