ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The 7th Annual Andy Jam is set to take the stage this weekend at The Barn in Zanesville.

This live music event features live music throughout Saturday afternoon and evening. Andy Jam will hold prize drawings throughout the night, with proceeds benefiting the Andy Quinn Memorial Fund. Andy Quinn aspired to be a law enforcement officer but died of a viral infection in 2019 before he had the chance.

“So this is a day to remember and celebrate my son, but also for the cause for a scholarship to the academy at Zane State,” said Paul Quinn, Andy’s dad and the event organizer. “Cause every community needs good law enforcement officers and we like to think by virtue of establishing a scholarship in my son’s name, we’re helping the community recruit and, and, and educate and train some really good quality officers for our community so that we can all enjoy the safety of Zanesville.”

According to The Barn’s owner, Jim Watson, the event has raised around $7,000 for the Andy Quinn Memorial Fund. Watson is excited to the community to come together in memory of Quinn through the power of music.

“We’ll have the Donnelly/Quinn Band, we’ll have Sharwahl. That’s Brandon Middletons the lead on that. He’s done a lot of different other events in the area, so that’s Sharwahl, the second band. Then we’re going to have Southern Alibi. It’s a great country band, some local guys in it as well as some people from out of town,” Watson said. “Then we’re going to wind up the night with our anchor, is the legendary Git Shorty and his band and it’s always a great time to have Git Shorty down here.”

You can visit The Barn’s Facebook page to learn more about Andy Jam. Live music starts at 1 p.m. on Saturday and ends at 11 p.m.
