Child Injured By Car in School Crosswalk

ZANESVILLE-The Zanesville Police Department was called to the scene of an accident Thursday near John McIntire Elementary School.

Police said the incident occurred around 8:08 am  near Western Avenue and McIntire Avenue .

Police said a 7-year-old ran out into the crosswalk when a vehicle was already traveling through the crosswalk.

Authorities said the child ran into the right side of the car.

The child was transported to Genesis Hospital with minor injuries and was later released.

No citations were issued.
