Glenn’s Childhood Home may become State Historic Site

John Glenn’s childhood home in New Concord may receive a distinct honor from the state.
State Representative Brian Hill (R-Zanesville) said the passage of House Bill 279 would designate Glenn’s home a state historic site through the Ohio History Connection.
Now known as the John and Annie Glenn Museum, the home allows the public to enjoy memorabilia and artifacts linked to the life and accomplishments of Senator Glenn, who in 1962 became the first American to orbit the earth.
House Bil 279 now goes to the senate for further consideration.
The bill was jointly sponsored by Hill and Speaker of the House Clifford Rosenberger.
