Chris Summers

Christopher Lee Summers 2/21/87 – 12/15/25 We are devastated to share that Christopher Lee Summers age 38 of Roseville, was no longer able to cope with the tortures associated with his mental health and took his own life while in the custody of the Muskingum County Jail. Those left to cherish his memory and mourn his loss on his maternal side include his loving mother and step-father Carla and Dave Levering. His maternal grandmother who was a source of unconditional love to him, Barbara Russell, his siblings Brooke (Shyann) Summers, David (Whitney) Levering Jr., Brook Gose, Aubrey Levering and Alaina Levering. His nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly Adin, Addi, Hudson and Dawson. He is also lovingly remembered by his aunts and uncles Barbie (Jim) Dennis, Martha (Stephen) Thomas, David (Mateo) Russell and many cousins. Chris was adopted at a young age by Kevin Summers, who survives him along with his grandfather Jim Summers. He is also survived by his sisters Stormy (Brandon) Long and Aditeya all of Florida as well as his step-mother Desiree Summers, and uncle, Jim Summers. His biological aunts and uncles who survive him include Joyce Epifano, Debbie (Jim) Dennis, Mike McConaha, Bruce McConaha, and Rick McConaha and siblings John McConaha, Jamie McConaha, and Josh McConaha and many cousins. Chris was preceded in death by his Grandmother Mary Summers, his biological father Christopher McConaha, and his grandparents Carl and Jean Ann McConaha, and cousin Christopher Hill. Christopher was a sweet, loving child who was deeply cherished by his family even as addiction and mental illness changed the person they once knew. The effects of addiction and mental health struggles are a devastating combination that too often steal our loved ones from us. Our family did everything possible to help Chris and to get help for him and thought we were on the right track finally. Sadly, that was not to be. We pray that greater awareness, compassion, and action surrounding mental illness will spare other families from enduring this unimaginable pain. A celebration of Christopher’s life will take place on Monday, December 22, 2025 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street Crooksville, where services will be held at 7:00pm with Pastor John Cottrell officiating. Memorial contributions may be made directly to Ross-Frash Funeral Home, 207 Burley Street, Crooksville to help the family with final expenses. www.ross-frashfuneralhomes.com
