Christ’s Table Open on Labor Day

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – It’s the Labor Day holiday, and one local organization is keeping its doors open for the community.
Every holiday, Christ’s Table welcomes everyone to enjoy a meal at their facility. Christ’s Table aims to give the people they serve the chance to spend time with other community members during the holiday.
“Every holiday we’re open, Monday through Friday. And we just want to make sure that everybody has somebody that they can spend the holidays with. And they’re like family to us so we want to make sure that we’re there for them,” said Christ’s Table Office Manager, Candi Jones.
Christ’s Table reached out to the Philo High School Key Club to see if they would volunteer to prepare and serve meals. Several students signed up to donate their time to help out on the holiday and their time off from school.
“We’re all so lucky to have food on our tables. And our school even serves us free breakfast every morning. So we just feel like, if we get that, then other people that aren’t as fortunate as us deserved to have that too,” said Philo High School Freshman Ambassador.
Christ’s Table has days available for anyone that would like to volunteer, just give them a call, (740) 452-9766. They are also looking for donations of bottled water, sugar, and salt.
