Christ’s Table Serves New Year’s Meal

Christstable

ZANESVILLE, Ohio — “We want to say Happy New Year to everybody.”

Keely Warden, Executive Director of Christ’s Table in downtown Zanesville.

“We’re serving sauerkraut and pork and hoping everybody has a happy 2020 and just greeting people and making them feel loved.”

Christ’s Table serves a large number of people who may normally go hungry for lunch.

“We just officially had our meal count for last year, so we’re at over 114,000 meals served here at Christ’s Table, which we thought we may be up for the year but we’re down a little bit. Last year we served 119,000. I don’t think the need for meals is down, I just think we have more partners now helping us. So it’s not only us out there fighting the battle for hunger now, we have our friend at True Light down the street serving breakfast now and we also have our partner agency, the Muskingum Co. Senior Center, serving meals downtown now at noon.”

Warden says Christ’s Table is continually accepting donations in 2020.
