Church in Zanesville helping those impacted by Hurricane Harvey

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-  North Terrace Church Of Christ in Zanesville is accepting donations to help those impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

Help For Houston Coordinator, Carol Humphreys’, daughter moved to Houston in June. Her daughter is fine, but she saw all the damage up close and wanted to help. Humphreys said she is leaving September 9th to visit her daughter and wants to bring a 20-foot truck full of donations.

“When we make the trip we want to take items to be able to give to the folks down there (Texas) that are needing them,” said Humphrey’s.

North Terrace Church Connection Minister, Chris Steele, said the church immediately said yes when it was told by Humphreys that she was willing to take a truck of donations on her trip to see her family. He said this trip to Houston created an opportunity to rally the community to help an area in need.

“This is going to be the first of what could be several trucks going down,” said Steele. “This one is focusing on clean up supplies, water, basic first response to get back on your feet. In the coming weeks, that list will probably expand to what people can donate and do. That’s why we are responding this way right now to make as much difference as quickly as possible.”

If you our interested in donating go to www.ntcoc.org to find out what is needed. Steele said he expects to send people down to the Houston area in the future to physically help in the relief effort.
