Muskingum University Athlete Killed in I-70 Accident

The Zanesville Post of the Highway Patrol released more information from the fatal accident on I-70 Thursday afternoon.

Lt. Matt Boyd says just after 12:30 pm 20-year-old Jarrell Marsh of Cincinnati, a Muskingum University student and member of the basketball team, was traveling west on I-70, went off the left side of the road into the median and overturned ending up in the eastbound lanes near State Route 93.  Marsh was ejected from the vehicle.

Due to the crash both eastbound lanes were closed for around two hours.

Lt Boyd says seat belt usage is a contributing factor in the crash.

Assisting on the scene was the Ohio Department of Transportation, Muskingum County Coroner’s Office, Community EMS and the Washington Township Fire Department.
