Zanesville City Council met Tuesday evening after taking Columbus Day off on Monday.

Council members discussed a number of ordinances, passing one that authorizes the proper city officials to enter into a real estate agreement with ODOT for the Military Road Bridge replacement project. Public Service Director, Jay Bennett said that at this point, the project is in its beginning stages.

"It’s a couple years out, its just kind of doing the acquisition now and the real-estate agreements and then we will start design" said Bennett. "Then ultimately it’s a couple years out on the small bridge replacement. "

Bennett also said that they are moving forward to begin the comprehensive master plan for the city.

"The master plan kind of kicks off this next week, that committee we are very very excited about the group that’s kind of volunteered their time for that heavy lifting project."
