City of Zanesville Completes Its 1st Comprehensive Plan

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The City of Zanesville has completed its first comprehensive plan. Now city administration is releasing it for review and comment.

The committee which is made up of community members, dedicated two hours a week for more than a year to create the goals of the plan. One highlight of the plan is it provides a road map for Zanesville’s future. And on Wednesday at the James Singer Center from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. the city will host an open house.

“And then this Thursday Night from 5:30-7:00 p.m we will be at Zanesville High School cafeteria,” said City of Zanesville Public Service Director Jay Bennett.  And then next Monday, May 2nd from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. And then next Tuesday, a little different twist downtown Secrest Auditorium basement 1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. We certainly encourage all of our community members and businesses to go on the web site and take a look at the document.”

Mayor Jeff Tilton said he’s thankful and grateful for the committee’s commitment.

“I would just like to thank the committee for their almost 2 years of involvement in the city. Giving up an hour or an hour and a half each week for that many weeks, and to come up with the comprehensive plan,” said Mayor Tilton.

The meeting on May 2 will be held at the Zanesville Civic League. You can view the plan on the City of Zanesville web site coz.org.
