Cleaning Up Muskingum County

A relatively new organization in Muskingum County is stepping up to make their community a better place.

The Muskingum County Civic Action Group formed to gather individuals and other organizations to sit at the table on equal footing and discuss solutions to issues currently going on in the county and ways to help.

"We figured it would be better to get everybody to come together to work and address community issues, so we’ll have a bigger impact," said Ernie Bynum Jr member of the Muskingum County Civic Action Group.

One of the first activities the group will take on is cleaning up neighborhoods in Muskingum County, starting next Saturday with the area around the Zanesville Civic League.

"This is not the only area this is just the first area and we’re going to go to multiple areas wherever anybody identifies because if you clean up where you live it improves your image and if you have a clean image you’ll be ready to get to work," said Bynum.

If you would like to get involved in cleaning up Muskingum County you should meet at the Zanesville Civic League Saturday, April 11. Clean-up will take place between 9-11am. Trash bags will be provided by the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The Zanesville Civic Action group meets the first Saturday of every month at the Zanesville City School District Office. To find out more you can visit the Muskingum County Civic Action Group on Facebook or call Ernie Bynum Jr. at (740) 819-1317.
