Coburn’s Easter Jam

Community Easter Jam Party Egg Hunt Lg

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – For many, Easter is a celebration that honors their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Coburn United Methodist Pastor Mark Raaker explains how his church plans to hold a celebration called Easter Jam that aims to bring laughter and fun to kids of all ages.

“We’re going to have… what we call the Easter Jam,” Raaker said. “It’s our annual egg hunt here at the church and we have a lot of things going on that day. We’re going to start at 2 and it’s going to run til’ about 4 o’clock. We’re going to have the egg hunt in addition to having some cookies and punch at the beginning. We also have some games and crafts planned. We have a couple of bounce houses coming. We have invited the fire department and the police department and if nothing crazy’s going on in the city, they’ve agreed to come.”

Raaker said there will be a variety of games and activities to keep people entertained, on top of the approximately 6,000 eggs that will be scattered for kids up to 18-years-old to hunt and exchange for candy.

“Well I just want to just mention that one of our missions here at Coburn United Methodist Church is to be a place where the community is enhanced and we encourage everybody to check our Facebook page and see what upcoming events are going to happen. The next thing we’re going to do is part of our concert series on May 18th, we have a concert here at the church at 7 p.m. And there will be five more concerts throughout the year. We have Vacation Bible School in June, starting JUne 14th. And we also have a Trunk-or-Treat and some other events,” Raaker said.

Easter Jam will start with a video in the gym at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 23rd. The Coburn United Methodist Church is located at 3618 Maple Avenue.
