ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Coca-Cola honored a local employee who has been with the company for more than half a century.

Linda Kuhn spent her last day at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Downtown Zanesville after being with the company for 52 years. Kuhn explained she always wanted to work for Coca-Cola after helping her Aunt on the weekends at the Coca-Cola Bottling Company when she was in school and finally got that opportunity shortly after graduation.

“He said the girl he had hired got married was having a baby she was leaving and he wanted to know if I was still interested, I said sure. He says well how much are you making and hour and I said a dollar. He says I’ll give you a dollar and a quarter if you come to work for me. So that was 52 years ago.”

Kuhn says she always enjoyed the people she worked with and was determined to reach the 50 year mark.

“I decided after 30 years when I went to the 30 plus banquet thy held in Cincinnati that I decided that I wanted to be the first woman in Ohio that would complete 50 years and I did.”

Kuhn wants to thank everyone who has helped her reach this milestone.
