College Night 2019 At OUZ and Zane State Campus

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – An educational evening is being planned next month aimed towards helping students and their families with the college process.
On March 14th, Scholarship Central’s 13th Annual College Night at the Zane State College and Ohio University Zanesville’s campus. College Night consists of providing students from grades 7th through 12th, a place where they can obtain information on how to choose a college, how to apply, and even learn more about financial aid.
“It really can help them see the things that they might have overlooked, the things that they didn’t realize they needed to do. We do have sessions such as there’s one called, “What do I do now that I’ve been accepted?” So that will give students an opportunity to learn more about what they need to do now that they have gotten that acceptance letter, what are their next steps,” said Manager of Education Programs, Katie McCarty.
The event consists of several presentations including Ohio Means Jobs presentations, student involvement and living on campus, college admission testing, and many more. Students could also potentially be awarded a $250 scholarship just for attending the event where more than twenty of these scholarships will be awarded.
“As a raffle, all they have to do is show up and their name will be put into a hat, and we’ll pull those names out at the end of the day. And those students will be awarded a $250 scholarship just for showing up,” McCarty said.
Participation in College Night is free of charge for all attendees. Students are able to register for the event on Scholarship Central’s website until March 1st.
