ZANESVILLE, Ohio- A sports car club takes a cruise through Downtown Zanesville.

The Capital City Corvette Club from Columbus passed through the city on their fall foliage tour. The group meets once a month and either going to car shows or taking their wheels for a spin. The members sometimes takes long trips to other states or a day trip like the one today. Dave Edwards, Trustee of the Capital City Corvette Club, said he and his wife planned the trip and they enjoy the ride and scenic routes so, they typically avoid the interstate.

“We started from Bob Evans in Columbus, Ohio. Came up route 33 to route 22 just south of Lancaster,” said Edwards. “Went through Lancaster all the way up through 22 until we got to Zanesville. Then took over and went over to route 555 the Ohio tail of the dragon which has got a lot of really interesting curves that if you take it at the 55 mile per hour speed limit, it’s pretty exciting.”

Capital City Corvette Club is the largest Corvette club in Central Ohio with over 100 members. The club does more than just take fun trips. They also host their own car shows and give back to the community.

“Part of what we do is raise money through our car shows and other things for charity,” said Edwards. “And in fact, we’re donating $23,000 this year to charities. And our major charity is Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.”

While in Zanesville, the members stopped by Bryan Place for lunch before some members continued the day trip and others headed back to Columbus.
