Columbus Gang Member Sentenced in Zanesville Shooting

Lil John

ZANESVILLE, Ohio–The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office said a Columbus gang member was sentenced Tuesday in Common Pleas Court in connection with a January 10th, 2018 shooting incident.

Prosecutors said it happened at the Dairy Mart at 714 Pine Street.

Investigators said John Williams Jr., also known as “Lil John” went before Judge Mark Fleegle and received 13-and-a-half years in prison, with 5 years of  mandatory incarceration.

The Prosecutor’s office said Williams had been in social contact with a Zanesville woman and believed he and his friends had been invited to town for the purpose of a romantic liaison.

Investigators said that did not happen, Williams felt disrespected and fired his gunshots hitting an innocent lady in Dairy Mart parking lot.
