Columbus Man Sentenced in Muskingum County

A Columbus gunman accepted an 11-year-old sentence in Common Pleas Court in Muskingum County.
The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office said 49-year-old Antonio Johnson was involved in a drug related dispute last September that ended in gunfire at 728 Woodlawn Avenue.
Zanesville Police said the dispute between Johnson and the victim, Alvin Draughn started over marijuana and then a dispute over a 22-year-old female.
Detectives used nearby surveillance videos and the Flock Camera System, provided by to the city through a grant secured by the prosecutor’s office to track down Johnson and his accomplice 59-year-old Tamara Spraggins. Authorities said Spraggins drove Johnson both to an from the scene. Spraggins plead guilty and was sentenced to two years in prison for her role in the offense.
The investigation expanded beyond the shooting and search warrants served at 207 Columbia Street yielded drugs, guns and the arrest of James Urban. Urban had been permitting various drug dealers to sell narcotics from his home in exchange for narcotics. As a result of Urban’s arrest the home at 207 Columbia was taken from him.
