Community Baby Shower
The 5th annual Community Baby Shower took place on Friday in front of the Riesbeck’s south location.
Visitors donated baby care items that will be used at the community action agency to stock its baby pantry.
"You purchase a bag for $5 or you purchase a dollar item and we receive the bag the money from the purchase and that helps keep our pantry going for the year," said Kathy Combs, Outreach Coordinator.
Some of the items people could donate included wipes, baby lotion and diapers. Those who qualify can visit the agency and receive these necessities for free.
" It really helps because we help people that are low to moderate income and we can help them when they first come home from the hospital or make it stretch until the next pay day with diapers and formula and items like that, " said Combs.
The Community Action Agency is a part of the Operation Feed Campaign. To apply for these baby care items you can visit the office at 828 lee street or give them a call at
740-453-5703.
