ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A local church has united in collecting donations for area residents affected by the recent floods.

Kathy Dickinson and St. Paul AME Church Pastor Bruce Wynn shared why they believe helping others is such a vital endeavor.

“I’ve always stressed the issue of getting involved. That’s what the church is all about. Helping the community, helping those in need. When you come together to help someone else, I always say God sees what you’re doing and the blessings will come,” Wynn said. “Only by the grace of God, there goes I. We could have been in the same situation. So we came together as a church, as a whole, and this is what we thought our mission was,” Dickinson added.

Congregation members of Union Baptist Church and Wings of Hope Tabernacle collaborated in the effort, which collected a variety of household items that filled the bed of a pickup truck and U-Haul trailer. The former Roseville Middle School located at 76 West Athens Road in Roseville is the major collection site for donations assisting the flood relief efforts.
