ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â On Monday, community members teed off on the greens at the Zanesville Country Club for the “30th Annual Drive for Excellence”.
This fundraiser featured a four person scramble with each team member’s tee shot used at least twice during the competition. Zane State College Foundation Executive Director Anthony Adornetto said it’s a true testimony of support from the community to have “Drive for Excellence” last 30 years.
“They are not giving us money,” said Adornetto. “They are investing in their community. Those are students that are born here, raised here, and they are going to continue to live here.”
Proceeds from Monday’s event goes to scholarships for qualifying Zane State College students, many of whom have significant financial need and are first generation students.
“It”s incredibly important to get this community buy in from individuals and companies from Muskingum, Guernsey, and Noble counties. Without their support we wouldn’t be able to continue to provide that much needed assistant for all of our students,” said Adornetto.
This was Adornetto’s first Drive for Excellence event. He said the most rewarding thing is increasing the number of sponsorships and participants each year.
