Comprehensive Master Plan Resolution at City Council

A resolution that proposes a comprehensive master plan for the City of Zanesville had its first reading at city council Monday evening.
Public Service and Community Development Director for the City of Zanesville, Jay Bennett, explained that the plan was designed to create a guiding document for the city.
It would establish a ranking of goals and policies to reference in future city development for the next 20 to 25 years.
"Its charging the administration to put together a work group and to begin working on a long range comprehensive plan for the city that will examine various elements. Things like housing, transportation, parks and recreation, community facilities, historical and economic development," said Bennett.
The resolution will come up again in two weeks at the next city council meeting for its second reading.
City council also tabled an ordinance to vacate a portion of balls lane for four weeks and be sent to a public service committee.
