Concert In The Courtyard Series Features Middle Eastern Culture
Residents of the Willow Haven Care Center and members of the community were immersed into an Arabian Night Tuesday evening.
The performance took place at Willow Haven Care Center on Taylor Avenue and was apart of the Summer Concert in the Courtyard series. Concert Performer Stoey Stout told us more.
“We have whirling dervishes, fire dancers, live Arabian music and of course we have a belly dancer who comes up from Athens who is awesome.” Said Stout.
Stout said the performances are always enjoyed by those who attend. He said this particular show was meant to give concert goers a taste of Middle Eastern Culture.
“This is a very good show tonight meaning we’re not just pretending, being Arabian, you know?” Said Stout, “We have real costumes. The costume I have–these things are from Turkey. Some of the other costumes are from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Turkey in any case and we have real cultural elements that are apart of this show tonight.”
The next performance in the series will be at Ceadar Hill Care Center and will feature Celts Crossing. That concert begins at 6:30 p.m. on September 10.
