Conservation symposium highlights research at The Wilds

Symposium

NEW CONCORD, OH- Conservation experts and community members gathered at Muskingum University for the 2025 Conservation Science Symposium hosted by The Wilds.

The event featured talks on conservation medicine, wildlife ecology, and restoration, with speakers from The Ohio State University, Cincinnati Zoo, and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.

“The Wilds hosts a Conversation Science Symposium every two years, this is our 3rd symposium, Covid put a kibosh on one of the years, it’s to highlight the research and the collaborative work that is done at The Wilds and with The Wilds staff and collaborators,” said Director of Conservation Medicine at The Wilds, Priscilla Joyner.

The event also served as a way for the public to engage with conservation efforts and discover ways they can contribute to preserving wildlife in their own communities.

“This is a great event for the community to learn about what is going on at The Wilds, it’s a great opportunity for the community to learn about conservation and ways that they can help conservation in their own backyard,” said Joyner.
