Coshocton County Crash Sends Six Children to Hospital

COSHOCTON, Ohio – Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office responded to an injury accident on US 36 that sent six children to the hospital.

The crash occurred Friday afternoon at 12:10 p.m. on US 36. 29-year-old Sara Loper of Warsaw was driving a 2002 Chevy van heading westbound. 54-year-old Edward McIntyre of Newcomerstown was stopped in his 2001 Chevy Truck on US 36 to turn left on CR 27. Loper’s vehicle failed to stop in time and struck McIntyre’s vehicle in the rear. The crash forced Loper’s vehicle to roll over onto its driver side and land in the middle of US 36.

Loper’s vehicle had 6 children inside of it in ranging in age from 4 months to 8-years-old. MedFlight flew the 8-year-old to Akron Children’s Hospital. The other five children were taken to Coshocton County Hosptial and eventually released. McIntyre was not injured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
