Coshocton Hot Air Balloon Festival Set to Soar June 5–7
ZANESVILLE, Ohio — The Coshocton Hot Air Balloon Festival is getting ready for takeoff in June.
The three-day event floats into town June 5 through 7, bringing a weekend full of color and fun for the whole family at the Coshocton County Fairgrounds.
“We’ll have balloon flights scheduled generally at 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., but it all depends on the weather and the winds. Pilot safety is the number one concern. If the wind is blowing greater than 6.5 miles per hour, they won’t fly. It’s just too tough on equipment,” Balloon Fest Chairman Phil Linne said.
Organizers say balloon launches are also grounded if there’s a storm within 75 miles of the festival. But don’t worry, there’s plenty to enjoy on the ground. With food vendors, live music, and more, there’s something at the festival for everyone.
